“Eight Days a Week”

The Noble Eightfold Path is the Buddha’s prescribed course of action and intention to rid ourselves of suffering.  It is an elegant and poetic set of suggestions for how to approach life, livelihood and happiness, and today I asked whether I was in fact following the path in my life as an actor.  So, stay tuned for eight entries, one a day for eight days starting on Monday.

Until then, here’s a primer.

Just wanted to say thank you for the link…Enlightenment is a heavy path we can only dream of achieving after a lifetime (very unlikely in my opinion) but one can always try…I find myself facing a big dilemma, the more I read, the more I adhere to the Buddhist philosophy but find it a bit hard to reconciliate some aspects of it with my religious beliefs (not that in Islam, we are not being encouraged to better ourselves constantly through our actions and thoughts especially in our daily life!)…Enlightenment = Ijtihad in Islam (to me anyway)
